Writing blog articles is still a great hobby in 2024. Many of us like to write about what they like, what they believe, what they know and want to share it with others so that the others can benefit from their knowledge. In return, the readers can also write comments about their own experiences. Blog writing is actually a great way to create a community of similar hobbies or niches. Your blogs can reach millions of readers worldwide. So, if you are planning to start a blog website and if you want that you have at least thousands of readers, you have to apply different Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies so that Google can show your website to the interested readers when they search the keywords of your blog articles. Without applying these SEO strategies, your blog posts will not be visible in the Google search results. In this article, I will describe 3 simple SEO strategies to start blogs in 2024. You can apply these strategies easily to your blog website so that it is ranked by Google in its top 10 results, or at least in its top 50 results.
SEO Strategy 1: Choose your niche
It is the most important step before starting a blog website. You may know or you may like to write on many topics. Write those topics in a notebook and ask yourself the first question:
- On which topic, can I speak whole day without taking help from any other source?
Then definitely, your topics will automatically reduce to a fewer topics. Then from these reduced topics, write the names of articles you want to write from each topic. Now, select the topic which has the highest number of articles that you can write.
In this stage, you don’t have to think about keyword research. Because keyword research may give you some topics which may not be interesting to you. Besides, you may not be an expert on those topics. To start a blog website on a topic or area, you must be an expert, either by having a vast amount of theoretical or practical knowledge and experience.
If you don’t select your niche in this way, you may stop writing blogs after 1 or 2 years. So, you have to choose your niche based on your interest and on your expertise. Then your contents will be valuable to your readers and gradually your website will be ranked by Google.
After choosing a niche, search domain names related to your niche. If your niche is on “gardening”, select domain names which have the exact or similar words to “gardening”. For example, gardeningzone, mygarden, etc. Then select “.com” at the end of your domain name. Buy this domain if it is available. Try to buy domain name with hosting. Because many hosting services provide domain names for free with their hosting plans. Nowadays, almost every hosting company provide WordPress websites. So, you can also choose WordPress as your blog website CMS (Content Management System).
SEO Strategy 2: Never use AI or copy-paste
When you write your articles, never use AI (Artificial Intelligence) based tools like chatgpt.com, Gemini and others. Because Google can detect contents that are written with AI. If you continue to write using AI, your website will not be ranked by Google. Besides, do not copy paste from other websites, articles, books, papers, etc. Because Google can also detect plagiarized or copy-pasted texts. So, don’t use AI or copy-paste. Because you are already an expert on the topic. That’s why you chose this topic! Write your articles yourselves based on your knowledge and experience so that it will be beneficial to others. Then more people will read your articles and also share them to others so that others can be benefitted as well.
SEO Strategy 3: Write Regularly (Most important)
Writing regular quality contents is the most crucial part of SEO. If you write regularly, Google will mark your website as active and show your website in the search results. If you write regularly, your readers will always come back to read more and know more. So, never stop writing. If possible, use related images to your blog post. Video is not that important in your blog post. Because your blog post is based on texts. So don’t divert your users to videos. Use headings like H2, H3 to structure your content. Headings will help to improve your SEO as well.
These are the main things to remember as SEO strategies when you start a blog website. When your blog site will have more than 50 articles, you can then use different tools to further improve your SEO and monetize from your website using Google adsense.
